“Have you ever been concerned about your child’s development, learning, or social emotional behavior? Maybe the child in your life has experienced family stress, which you think might be impacting the ability of your child to reach his/her developmental milestones? Are you unable to seek early intervention support for your child because you don't know who to contact? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, 1st Five may be able to help. You are not alone.

What Can You Do?

Take your child to a healthcare provider for regular check-ups. Well-child exams are the one place where nearly all families have contact with a health care provider. If you have concerns about how your child plays, learns, acts, or how they are growing, talk to your child's healthcare provider about these concerns, and ask about a developmental screening.” (Iowa HHS, 2024)
