Are you covered by the Iowa Health & Wellness Plan? (Iowa Wellness Plan, or Iowa Marketplace Choice Plan)If so, you have dental coverage!
The Iowa Dental Wellness Plan (DWP) allows members to obtain dental services right away including preventive, emergency and stabilization services. All free to the member! Additional services must be earned by seeing a dentist every 6-12 months. The plan is designed using an earned benefit model. The more preventive services received the more restorative services the member will be eligible for.
Level 1: Core
See a dentist for a check-up and exam to start earning dental benefits, You will be able to receive services such as cleanings and x-rays, in addition to an emergency or stabilization service that cannot wait to be earned.
Level 2: Enhanced
A second dental exam for your dentist will earn you additional dental services such as fillings, extractions and root canals.
Level 3: Enhanced Plus
A third exam allows you to receive even more services such as crowns, bridges and dentures. Your dentist will make sure you qualify for these services by submitting a prior authorization.
Level 4: Maintenance
If you do not receive a dental exam every year, you will lose any earned benefits and start back over at Core.
