Provides dental exams utilizing volunteer dentists in the school based setting. After exams are completed a registered dental hygienist (RDH) places sealants on all teeth prescribed by the dentist. Medicaid is billed when applicable to help cover program costs. Follow-up and referral is provided for those children presenting with decay or lacking a dental home. In Muscatine, United Way partners with Trinity Muscatine Public Health to help expand services to all qualifying schools within the city limits.

Residence Requirements:
Participants may reside in Cedar, Louisa, or Muscatine Counties, but students are only eligible to participate if attending a school with at least a 40 percent free and reduced lunch rate. The number of schools served by the program each year varies depending on funding allocations and schools with the highest need are targeted first.

The multi-cultural health initiative was started as a way to reach women and to provide them with educational materials and programs promoting breast cancer awareness. It now includes outreach programs targeting Family Health, Breast Health, Prostate Awareness, and Adult and Childhood Obesity.
Community outreach for awareness, prevention, and screening for most common types of cancer (breast, prostate, colon, skin, lung).
Free resources and materials available to encourage screening. Kristi Siwajek, Community Outreach Coordinator will give presentations to agencies, groups, businesses, anyone interested in learning more about these topics.
UnityPoint is implementing a Komen Foundation grant for community outreach for Breast Health. We offer education sessions for underserved populations in Muscatine County, Iowa, as well as Mercer County, Illinois. We will distribute "Pink Passes" redeemable for a gift card for women who come to UnityPoint for a mammogram.
